Leather???

I feel like I am flooding this blog!  Stella & Lori (my Ara severas) found my new belt and ruined it!  We got it last month b/c I needed a new belt, it was a reversible black/brown leather belt from Target.

Two issues:

1 - I don't want to buy another belt from a store like that.

2 - Not so sure how I feel about buying new leather products, or leather period at this point.

I would like a black belt that is kind of mid-line, not so casual not so dressy.  I do own and wear a pair of Dansko clogs that are black leather...from my pre-veganish days of thought.  I can't see the point in getting rid of them and I really like them and where them most days.

Unfortunately, most nice-looking non-leather belts are made of polyurethane. If you're okay with that (and, frankly, I am, since I'd rather use plastics than torture animals), try shopping Truth: http://www.vegetarianbelts.com/

I made a comment about polyurethane on the bamboo clothing thread - basically saying I don't know what to think about it b/c I am not really educated enough on that...but I think this just means it is a product for me to learn about!

Thanks for the link.

I actually didn't wear leather for 13 years, and am starting to wear it again.

I figure it's better to wear leather than further support the petroleum industry.

As with clothing, there are few 100% guilt-free choices.
